Outreach

Over 1000 Living Seawalls panels have been installed around the world and these have been an important educational tool in highlighting the threats posed to marine biodiversity due to coastal development, and the potential to revive degraded marine ecosystems using innovative technologies.

The Living Seawalls sites in Australia are situated in highly prominent public spaces, and have been accompanied by interpretive signage that has been nationally recognised in guidance documents for breakwater upgrades.

Our team actively promotes the Living Seawalls message to community groups, school and university students, environmental managers and developers through seminars, panel discussions, and interactive trails and activities. These events, social media postings and the extensive media coverage we have received have brought hundreds of thousands of people along on our journey of ocean revival, building stewardship of our important but fragile marine ecosystems.
